The Things That I Can Do

I received news from my mother that my sister's boyfriend is going to 'merisik' her by this May. I didn't think that it will be this earlier, but good for them. My mom added that they are going to get married by March 2012 (yeah, no engagement and straight to the marriage). It means that I will not be there when they are getting married, and my mom really wants me to be there.

Mom: tapi nanti mama nak pujuk kakak tunggu abang cuti next yearlah

Me: abang tak kisah pun. mana2 la yang bagus untuk diorang. tak baik lambat2 benda yang bagus. hoho

Mom: tak bestlah abang tak ada...

Yeah, I said to my mom that I don't mind. But that wasn't really my true feelings. I really don't know why, but I felt really sad at that time. Not because I am sad that my sister is going to get married. It's her happiness, so why should I be sad? It's not like I am really close with her. I mean, during my high school, I spent my time in boarding schools (for five years), then I went to INTEC, and here I am now in America. We talked when I got back home, of course, but she was always busy with something. It's not like she is at home all the time. Maybe, compared to other siblings, we are not that close and we don't talk with each other a lot. I am not a good little brother, I am aware of that. I don't really care about what she wants to do, as long as she is fine. I never done anything for her. I... I am bad, am I not?

But at least, I want to there for her. I want to be there during the happiest moment of her life. I want to see the starting point of her own happiness. I want to support her. I just want to see her face during her best time. Ya Allah, I really want to be there...

Then there is this friend of mine, who just finished her final exams. She said something about having contact lens infection. I thought it wasn't that severe, and she did said she already went to two hospitals to get some medicines. But her eye still didn't get any better, and she went to UIA's hospital. The day before her final paper, I didn't contact her since  I thought that would be bothering her. Then the next day, I send her a message but she didn't reply.

The day after that, I visited her Facebook profile and to my surprise, she is currently in hospital getting a surgery. From what I read, things gotten quite bad and she had lost a lot of blood. I can only pray for her safety from here and hopefully things will turn out fine for her.

  1. Wow, eye surgery. Pretty bad D:

Though, I wonder how do you lose blood with eye infections... do eye infections bleed?

  2. She lost blood during the surgery, not because of the infection. I don't think our eyes can bleed just because of eye infections.. unless we are infected with T-virus or plagas =_="

A Little Debate About Love and Commitment

A week after thanksgiving, we had a group discussion about Islam. To make it short, suddenly it become a debate of my commitments toward someone. Yes, it is about love. These are the questions, and my answer: If you guys love each other, why don't you just be in relationship? If we are in love, doesn't mean we MUST be in love. Being in relationship doesn't give any assurance that you are going to get married to each other. Most of my friends that are in relationship often ended up in failure, though a few (like one out of 50) still manage to maintain for 3-4 years. If you are ready to be in relationship, then you must be ready to get married. You give your commitment, attention and time for your partner, isn't it the same as married couple?* I never say being is relationship is wrong, but people who in relationship is the trouble. We always want the good thing (getting attention, sharing our love, etc) but always avoid the hard part (our responsibilities, commitment, et...
