Results!

So the result for my Arabic course is out :) Now I can talk about all of my results~ Wee~

Act Sci 300
The challenge : I really want an A for this course, because my seniors said that this course is an easy A. But I did miss two classes, didn't send two homeworks, and didn't do one quiz. Of course I was worried if I didn't get an A.
And the result is... : But thank God, I did get an A for this one-credit course :)

Arabic Language
The challenge : I came back to Madison like two-three weeks late, so I missed a lot of classes (this course is every day!). The limit of absents is five, and I know I didn't come to class more than that. I worried that my absents will bring down my grade.
What I did : My knowledge of Arabic language during high schools truly helped me a lot. Plus, I was very lucky that my instructor is not so strict, and he is very friendly. During my oral test, I told him about my current situation with my sponsor, and he said "I hope you will do well (in your other courses), because I know you are a good student". Hee~
And the result is... : This course is a 5-credit course, so getting an A really helps my GPA and CGPA.

Statistics
The challenge : Statistics isn't that much problem at the beginning, but it gets harder and harder throughout the course. Even though I missed the lectures a lot (intentionally), I went to every single discussion session~
What I did : There are two things that truly helped me with this course: Act Sci 300, which complements this course, and a lot of helps and guides from Naqib :)  But I really do need to thank Naqib since without him, it would be hard for me to catch up with this class. Kudos to him :)
And the result is... :  My test scores were pretty constant, so I really think that I deserve an AB. My midterms scores are better than Naqib's, and we got the same score for the final and final grading mark (82/100). My homeworks isn't that good compared to Naqib's. By the way this course bears 4 credit hour.

Macroeconomic
The challenge : I struggled with two major obstacle in this course. First, I can't really understand the lecture. Second, I am taking this class alone (meaning no other Malaysians were in the same class. It's really hard for me since I have a bad experience taking a course alone. In fact, during the first midterm, I failed the paper (11/25 only!).
What I did : After that, I know that I need to do real harder and smarter for this course. Well of course, I didn't do really hard (or I will definitely break), so I did it smartly (I think). As my senior suggested, I took a Business Learning Center (BLC) class and it definitely helped me a lot. Plus, I went to every exam reviews. So during my second midterm, I scored 20.5/25. But the real challenge is before and during the final. I totally lost it during the lectures. I couldn't understand a thing that my professor said. I was really really worried for my finals.
And the result is... : With extra efforts and doing exactly the same thing that I did before my second midterm, I scored 33.3/40 for my final, and my final grade is B :) Macroeconomic is a 3-credit course.

My GPA for this semester is 3.615. I am truly happy right now, and thankful to Allah for granting me my wish :) Thanks also to those who have been supporting me!

A Little Debate About Love and Commitment

A week after thanksgiving, we had a group discussion about Islam. To make it short, suddenly it become a debate of my commitments toward someone. Yes, it is about love. These are the questions, and my answer: If you guys love each other, why don't you just be in relationship? If we are in love, doesn't mean we MUST be in love. Being in relationship doesn't give any assurance that you are going to get married to each other. Most of my friends that are in relationship often ended up in failure, though a few (like one out of 50) still manage to maintain for 3-4 years. If you are ready to be in relationship, then you must be ready to get married. You give your commitment, attention and time for your partner, isn't it the same as married couple?* I never say being is relationship is wrong, but people who in relationship is the trouble. We always want the good thing (getting attention, sharing our love, etc) but always avoid the hard part (our responsibilities, commitment, et
