Moral Choices

In some video games, we are presented with the moral choices system. Games like inFamous, Bioshock, Fallout 3 and Heavy Rain provided us with some of the best mechanic of moral choices.


In real life, we also face some moments of choosing, with our morality being tested.






Today, I just sent my Wii to make it pirate-enabled (or upgrade, like the shop owner written on a piece of paper). Do not get me wrong. I has been supporting originals since my arrival in USA. By buying originals, it shows that we support the game that we like and giving the developers the reward that they deserve for giving us an entertainment. But why do I want to upgrade my Wii?


First of all, I will permanently leave my Wii at my home in Malaysia. The problem with Wii is that it has region lock. Meaning? Game that I buy from other country outside US will not work in my Wii. I had surveyed a few nearest game store (around Shah Alam and Midvalley) but only a handful of Wii games is US region, and all the games are crap, really. By upgrading it, I can enjoy most games that I want to play.


Secondly, I am not the one who going to play the Wii at most times. It will be my family. They are not serious gamers like me (or you). Of course they don't want to spend like RM150 just to buy a game, right? 


Plus, Nintendo is already rich enough :P Though they had a financial decline on last quarter.


So either support the developers or save my own money. Which one will it be?


p/s: Right now I need to wait for 1 or 2 days before I will know how much I need to pay. Please don't let it reach 3 digits.
